The Story:

Minneapolis-based hard rock act, Dante's Lounge, has been lurking on the scene for some time now. Over the years Dante's Lounge has gone through numerous musical iterations ranging from acoustic to full on metal shredding. They would show up in local clubs each summer, showing off some of the new material, but when winter rolled around the band would retreat once again to begin writing more songs. Then, after writing, performing and recording hundreds of songs, 2005 arrived and with it the realization that a full-length disc was taking shape in the rehearsal studio. In the summer of 2006 the band entered A440 Studios and has finally emerged with their first release, "Vices" which is now available.

The Discs:

"Transparent Scars", released in 2009, is an aggressive and tightly woven group of songs. This collection of 5 new tracks definitely establishes the band's unique style.

"Vices", released in 2007, is a 10 song collection of driven rock that carefully treads on the boundary between "heavy" and "catchy". Each song is marked with a distinct blend of athletic drumming, passionate vocals and a rhythm section that doesn't fall back on tired riffs. Localtone.com said: "Their music has depth, musical thought and a certain technical difficulty that is independent of the speed it's played. If their album can capture half of the energy of their live show, it's bound to get some media attention."

Dante's Lounge is currently working on a third release that is anticipated in late-2010/early-2011.
